Intro to Trauma Literacy
Experience an introductory session in which participants discover Trauma Literacy’s framework for understanding the impact stress and trauma has upon learning. This session lays the groundwork for Level 1.
For: Professional development and/or teacher induction programs

Trauma Literacy Level One
Our Level One Trauma Literacy program combines theoretical and practical learning in group sessions along with individual coaching support for site leaders or administrator to achieve optimum results.
The process begins with a 30-minute session between an administrator or site leader and our team to design a responsive training for your specific organization.
Next, we facilitate a group session which connects our trauma literacy framework with immediate practical applications for both individual and classroom learning.
During one or two group sessions (tbd), participants:
- explore identity safety and cultural competency
- build a community of learners among colleagues
- develop methods which support ongoing inquiry and learning for trauma-informed practices
After the group session, we provide individualized coaching for site leaders or administrators to:
- consider participant feedback and explore organizational implications
- support development of future PD to build on Level 1 learning
- respond to current organizational structures and practices in light of emergent needs of the community
Participants will receive a Level 1 Trauma Literacy Certificate .

Group session (tbd during initial call: one 6-hour group session OR two 2-3 hour group sessions)

Trauma Literacy Level Two
Our Level Two Trauma Literacy Program builds upon the work of Level One in group sessions supported by individual coaching support for site leaders or administrator.
The group session will invite participants to reflect upon and share their learnings from engaging with the trauma literacy framework and applying the tools acquired in Level One. Additionally, we will deepen these practices and apply them to a site specific challenge related to trauma and safety. During one or two group sessions (tbd), participants:
- deepen practices to respond to trauma and cultivate healing and learning
- consider a shared equity challenge
- learn and practice engaging an inquiry process that facilitates a shift in organizational behavior in service of greater equity of access and outcomes
After the group session, we provide individualized coaching for site leaders or administrators to:
- consider participant feedback and implications for the organization going forward
- support development of future PD to incorporate and build on the learnings from Level 2
- respond to dilemmas that arise between current organizational structures and practices and the emergent needs of the community
Participants will receive a Level 2 Trauma Literacy Certificate.
